MFSA: Eyes Wide Open: The Human Cost Of War

MFSA brought the Eyes Wide Open exhibit to the 2008 General Conference. This is the American Friends Service Committee’s widely-acclaimed exhibition on the human cost of the Iraq War and features a pair of boots honoring each U.S. military casualty from Texas and a field of shoes and a Wall of Remembrance to memorialize the Iraqis killed in the conflict. Just minutes before we arrived to photograph the exhibit, the grandmother and mother of Daniel Torres, 23 of Fort Worth visited the exhibit and placed Daniel's photo on his boots. We photographed Daniel's boots below.
